In Fort Worth, on July 5, 1958, Casa Mañana was born. A sold-out audience of dapper black-ties and fashionable gowns enjoyed a performance of the musical Can-Can and an icon nestled itself into a comfortable -- and seriously reputable -- home. Saturday, that same icon celebrates it's mid-century birthday with 1958 prices and a day of events that folks of all ages can enjoy: a Broadway musical revue, The Casa Kids performances (for a mere $3), balloon artistry, face painting and even a look at original set pieces, costumes and show programs spanning Casa's lifetime. And yes, the historical Wurlitzer will be in attendance. Hot dogs are a quarter; ice cream's a dime. It all begins in the Casa Mañana Theatre grand lobby (3101 W. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth) at 11 a.m. with stage performances at noon and 2 p.m. Call 817-332-2272 or visit casamanana.org.
